Restaurant Skalka
The panoramic Restaurant Skalka in Dolní Morava runs heating, ventilation, cooling, refrigeration and the motorised glass roof on one Loxone system. Two operating modes keep guests comfortable while the restaurant is open and cut consumption when it is empty. Online energy monitoring and equipment condition checks help the operator spot waste and prevent failures before they affect service.

01 / Challenge
What the project had to solve.
The restaurant has high demands on visitor comfort and operational efficiency. Heating, ventilation, cooling, refrigeration and freezer units all need to run reliably during service, yet there is no reason for them to draw full power when the restaurant is empty. The individual technologies also had to adapt automatically to how the building is being used, while giving the operator a better view of energy consumption and device condition, so that potential problems could be found before they caused a failure or damaged stock.
02 / Response
How the system was delivered.
Loxone centralises control around two operating modes. During service the system maintains comfortable conditions for guests; once the building is no longer in use, the technologies switch to standby and reduce consumption. Ventilation runs according to actual need and heating follows occupancy, so full comfort mode is not maintained in an empty restaurant. Online energy monitoring gives the operator a current overview, while refrigeration and freezer units are watched for temperature and door status. The motorised glass roof supports natural ventilation in summer, and in non-use mode energy consumption dropped by roughly half.

Typical ranges for this building type.
Industry planning references, not measured results from this project. Point counts, durations and scope must be confirmed with a point schedule and site survey.
| Measure | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Point density | 100–300 points per site |
| Commissioning window | 2–4 weeks per site |
| Typical scope | Lighting, HVAC, refrigeration monitoring, energy and service-mode scenes |
| Documentation focus | Scene schedule, equipment list, alarm list and staff guide |

“We didn't just want to automate individual technologies. The goal was for the whole building to respond on its own to whether it is actually being used and adjust its consumption accordingly. The result is significantly more efficient operation, simpler management and comfort for guests that is fully preserved.”
